Joe Kontur has held a number of different roles in the technology industry since 1999. Joe was Vice President of Finance & Operations at BSQUARE Silicon Valley Corp. from 1999 to 2002, during which time they supported the obtainment of venture capital funding and played an integral role in the successful acquisition by conducting comprehensive business and financial due diligence with the merger partner. From 2002 to 2004, they were Director of Planning and Operations at Panasonic Digital Concepts Center, the corporate venture capital arm of Panasonic. In this role, they led technology partnerships and business collaboration efforts between Silicon Valley portfolio companies and Japanese business units. From 2004 to 2006, they were Controller of Worldwide Fab Operations at International Rectifier Corp. From 2006 to 2017, they held various roles at Panasonic, including Director of Engineering Test Center, Finance & Administration Director of Panasonic Hollywood Lab, Finance Director of an Online Gaming Company, and Operations Director of Panasonic Wireless Research Lab. During this time, they also led the business operations of a group developing software and wireless hardware solutions for emerging communications markets. Since 2017, Joe has been President of Almaden Technology Group, LLC and a Senior Consultant at RoseRyan. Additionally, they were a Business Operations Mentor at Singularity University from 2016 to 2017, where they provided business modeling, finance, and operations coaching to the Global Solutions Program participants.
Joe Kontur has a strong educational background. Joe earned their MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a focus on Finance and Marketing. Prior to that, they obtained their MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University School of Engineering and their BS in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia Engineering.
