Georgios Protopapas has a diverse work experience in the energy and engineering industries. Georgios is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Rosetta Energy since January 2023. Before their current position, Georgios worked as an Independent Consultant at Diamesos Engineering Services, specializing in process engineering, project management, and business development in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical sectors. At Vopak, they were a Project Manager LNG, focusing on process engineering, commissioning planning, and new energies. Georgios also had substantial experience at Yamal LNG, where they held roles as Deputy Team Lead Utilities, Power Plant, Storage & Loading, and Senior Technologist Utilities, Power Plant, Storage & Loading, overseeing various engineering services. Georgios started their career at Shell Projects & Technology, working as a Process Engineer LNG, Process Technologist, and Energy & Utilities Technologist, contributing to projects related to plant design standardization and operations support. Prior to their career in the engineering industry, Georgios worked as an IT engineer at Electronum ltd, where they developed an IT database system for trolleybus vehicles.

Georgios Protopapas holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering - Energy Technology from Delft University of Technology, which they obtained from 2003 to 2006. Prior to that, they completed a 5-year degree in Chemical Engineering from Ethniko Metsovio Polytechnico between 1997 and 2003. Georgios graduated from Moraitis school in 1997 with a high school diploma in General Studies. In terms of certifications, they obtained an APM Level D project practitioner certification from the Association of Project Managers (APM) in 2015, and a VCA Vol certification from SCC in May 2010.
