Ewan Smith

Ewan Smith has over 20 years of experience in mechanical design engineering. Ewan is currently working at Ross Video as a Mechanical Design Engineer since November 2019. Previously, Ewan worked at C-COM Satellite Systems Inc. for 13 years as a Mechanical Engineer, where they led the ground-up redesign of vehicle-mounted terminals. Before that, they worked as a New Product Introduction Specialist at Med-Eng Systems for a few months in 2006. From 2002 to 2006, Ewan worked at Lee Valley Tools as a Product Design Engineer, providing engineering services and improving engineering drawings. In the same period, they also worked at IMAGO Machine Vision as a Mechanical Design Engineer, providing mechanical design services for tracking systems. From 2000 to 2001, Ewan worked at Valid Manufacturing Ltd. leading the design effort for a slide-out room extension system. Finally, in 1999, they worked at COE Newnes McGehee as a Mechanical Design Engineer, providing mechanical design support for investigating alternative sensing technologies in the woodworking industry.

Ewan Smith completed their Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of British Columbia, which they pursued from 1994 to 1999. In 2006, they obtained the certification of Professional Engineer (PE) from Professional Engineers Ontario.
