Michael Thompson has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Michael started their career in 1987 as an EMT-Paramedic at Tri-County Emergency Medical Services and worked there until 1992. From 1991 to 1994, they also served as a Paramedic at the City of St. Albert Fire Department and as a Flight Paramedic at the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS). In 1997, they joined Nortel Networks as a Verification Team Leader and Deployment Engineer, where they worked until 2008. Michael then moved on to Ross Video, where they held various roles including Quality Assurance Team Leader from 2008 to 2011, Manager of Product Verification from 2011 to 2015, and Manager of R&D Labs and Facilities from 2015 to present.
Michael Thompson attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 1986 to 1987, where they received a degree in Emergency Medical Technician. Michael then attended NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) from 1989 to 1991, earning a degree in Paramedic. Later, from 1994 to 1997, Michael studied at the Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, where they pursued a degree in Computer Engineering Technology. During this time, they focused on subjects such as Computer Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering Technology, and Mathematics.
