Raphael Samad

Raphael Samad has a diverse range of work experience in the field of broadcast and media. Raphael started their career at Scottish Television as an Engineer in 1987 and worked there until 1989. Raphael then moved on to New England Digital, where they worked in Sales from 1990 to 1991. From 1991 to 1994, they served as a Product Manager at AVS Broadcast. Following this, they worked as a Regional Sales Manager at Abekas Video Systems from 1995 to 1997. Raphael then joined Sony Professional Europe as a Group Manager, responsible for Product Management of Picture Processing Products, until 2002.

In 2013, they became a Business Development Director at Emotion Systems, specializing in signal processing solutions for media file-based workflows. Raphael held this position until 2016 when they joined Something Abstract Communication Solutions as a Product Manager, responsible for Product Management, Product Marketing, and Project Delivery.

From 2016 to 2018, Raphael worked as a Sales Manager (Contract) at Emerging, focusing on high-end Hi-Fi audio products for home use. Their role involved managing a network of UK Dealers, promoting and managing Dealer Events, planning and running public HiFi Shows and Events, educating Dealers and Customers on new technology, and creating and planning system architectures.

Currently, Raphael is working at Ross Video since 2016. Raphael initially served as a Business Development Manager/Product Specialist, maximizing sales of the Abekas product range. In 2018, they took on the role of Business Development Manager, responsible for Production Switchers and Video Servers, in the EMEA region.

Raphael Samad attended Edinburgh Napier University from 1981 to 1986, where they obtained a Bsc Hons in Communications & Electronics with a focus on Digital Signal Processing, Digital Communications, and Networks. Prior to that, their education history is not provided. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a PMC Level VII certification from Pragmatic Institute in September 2021, along with a Pragmatic Certified Product Marketer certification. Raphael also achieved PMC Level VI, PMC Level V, and two Focus certifications from Pragmatic Institute earlier in 2021.
