Troy English

CTO at Ross Video

Troy has a long background in software programming, taking his first programming classes at the age of 8 (BASIC on a TRS-80) and his mother gave him his first programming manual around the same time (PL/1).

Troy originally studied Economics in University, after two years of spending all his evenings working on his computer instead of Economics (since nobody would let him play with a country’s economy) Troy switched into and completed a joint Math and Computer Science degree at McGill University in Montreal.

Immediately after Graduating from McGill in 1993 Troy began working for Ross Video as a software developer and over the first 10 years with Ross Video wrote software on many of Ross Videos products including several of the Production switchers as well as Gear products. Troy has managed several software product teams within Ross and in 2008 became the CTO for Ross Video. Troy holds several US patents in the broadcast industry.

Troy has over 15 years of experience in the broadcast industry and his number one passion is designing products that our customers will love.

Troy is happily married and adores his two wonderful children. In his rare spare time he plays and collects rare Geek board games, several of which are always on display in his office if you come visit him in Ottawa.
