Michel Zaffran

Michel Zaffran is an accomplished public health professional with extensive experience in immunization and vaccine management. Currently serving as Regional Vice Chair for Rotary International's Countdown to History Campaign Committee and as the EndPolioNow Coordinator for Region 14, Michel's expertise builds on a distinguished career at the World Health Organization, where roles included Director of Polio Eradication and Coordinator of the Expanded Programme on Immunization. Prior to retirement, Michel held the position of Deputy Executive Secretary at GAVI Alliance, overseeing technical and policy initiatives related to vaccine financing and strategy. Educational credentials include an engineering degree from Centrale Lyon and a Master of Engineering from Technische Universität Darmstadt.
