After completing their time at the academy in 2003, they continued their education at the University of Maryland in 2004 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and International Economics in 2006.

Bengfort's passion for computer science led him to enroll at North Dakota State University in 2008. Benjamin obtained a Master of Science degree in Computer Science in 2009, gaining valuable knowledge and expertise in the field.

Seeking further advancement in computer science, Bengfort joined the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2012. Although they did not complete a specific degree program at this institution, they engaged in further studies related to computer science.

Bengfort's educational journey culminated in their enrollment at the University of Maryland in 2013, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science. Immersed in rigorous research and academic pursuits, they dedicated five years to this program, graduating in 2018.
