Yasmeen Rahimi

Yasmeen Rahimi, PhD has a diverse range of work experience in the field of biotechnology. Yasmeen is currently a Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst in Biotechnology at Piper Sandler since February 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Director and Senior Research Analyst in Biotechnology at the same company from July 2020. Before joining Piper Sandler, they worked at ROTH Capital Partners as a Director, Biotechnology Research Analyst, and later as a Managing Director and Senior Research Analyst in Biotechnology from September 2017 to July 2020. Yasmeen also gained experience as an Equity Research Associate at H.C. Wainwright & Co., LLC in 2016, as well as at Guggenheim Partners as a Biotechnology Equity Research Associate from July 2015 to June 2016. In addition, they worked as a Scientist at Shire Pharmaceuticals from November 2014 to July 2015. Yasmeen's academic experience includes being a Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University School of Medicine from August 2012 to November 2014, under the mentorship of Dr. Gerald Shulman. Prior to that, they were a PhD Student at Indiana University School of Medicine from August 2009 to August 2012, with Dr. Robert A. Harris as their mentor, and also worked as a Research Assistant at the same institution from April 2008 to August 2009.

Yasmeen Rahimi, PhD obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from Butler University in 2005. Yasmeen then pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Bioanalytical Chemistry at Purdue University from 2005 to 2008. In 2009, they enrolled at Indiana University School of Medicine and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry with a minor in Diabetes and Obesity in 2012. Following this, Rahimi pursued a post-doctoral fellowship in Internal Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine from 2012 to 2014.
