Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Rothamsted Research

Tessa Reid has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of research and biology. Tessa is currently employed as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Rothamsted Research since January 2022. Prior to this, Tessa worked as a PhD Student at Rothamsted Research from October 2018 to October 2021, where they focused on researching plant-microbe interactions in wheat. During their PhD, Tessa conducted experiments, sampled plants and soils, and authored publications.

Before that, Tessa worked as a Masters by Research Student at the University of Exeter from September 2016 to August 2018. Tessa contributed to experiments and conferences within the Exeter Microbial Biofuels Group and gained teaching experience by demonstrating in practical classes and seminars.

Tessa also gained industry experience as a Biodomain Intern at Shell from August 2016 to July 2017. Tessa worked on assessing the potential of different microbial routes to advanced biofuels, assisting with experiments and presenting findings in weekly meetings.

Additionally, Tessa has worked as a Casual Research Assistant at Rothamsted Research in 2015, focusing on "Take-all" disease in wheat. Tessa gained fieldwork experience by conducting plant sampling and soil coring.
