Rotherham Hospice
Rotherham Hospice is an independent charity delivering care through a range of services to people affected by a terminal illness. Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers work together to provide high quality care that includes physical, psychological, social and spiritual support. This care helps patients, their families and carers achieve the very best quality of life and personal experience, both at home and in the Hospice. We opened our current building in 1996 welcoming patients to the Day Hospice. This was closely followed in 1997 when an eight bed Inpatient Unit opened its doors. With further expansion over the years we now provide 14 single inpatient bedrooms with en-suite facilities, a Day Hospice offering Day Therapies and Wellbeing Groups, as well as traditional day care, and a Hospice Community Team delivering specialist nursing and a Hospice at Home service for the Rotherham community. We need around £6 million a year to provide our services free of charge to the people who need them. Whilst we do receive some funding, we still need to raise £3 million each year through fundraising - that's over £8000 each and every day of the year! We are dependent on the generosity of the local community, and we are most grateful for this support.
