Sanjeev Bhaskar

Sanjeev Bhaskar is an actor, writer and programme maker. He first came to prominence by creating and appearing in the comedies GOODNESS GRACIOUS ME (BBC, BAFTA nominated, winner of a British Comedy, RTS and British Press Guild awards) and THE KUMARS AT NUMBER 42 (BBC, BAFTA nominated, winner of 2 International EMMY’s, A Peabody, Bronze Rose of Montreux awards).

He also appeared in the series THE INDIAN DOCTOR (BBC) and is currently appearing in the crime drama UNFORGOTTEN (ITV).

Among his other credits are the documentaries INDIA WITH SANJEEV BHASKAR (Followed by a Sunday Times bestselling book of the same name), POSITION IMPOSSIBLE: THE SEARCH FOR THE KAMA SUTRA and 100 YEARS OF BOLLYWOOD. He also appeared on stage in London’s West End in ART (Whitehall Theatre) and played King Arthur in SPAMALOT (Palace Theatre).

Sanjeev graduated from the University of Herfordshire with a BA in Business Studies and Marketing and is currently the Chancellor of Sussex University.

His personal claims to fame are achieving No.1 in the pop charts with Gareth Gates (SPIRIT IN THE SKY, 2003) and introducing the word ‘chuddies’ (Underpants in Hindi) into the Oxford English Dictionary.
