Sherry Dzinoreva currently serves as Director of Policy Programs, Africa, Middle East and Turkey (AMET) for Meta where she leads on program development to amplify the platform’s tools for social good. During her tenure, she has led a number of community initiatives including Facebook Nigeria, a three-year campaign designed to support small business owners through skills training and infrastructure support; the launch of MyDigital World, a digital literacy program for youth, educators and parents; and most recently, Amplifying African Voices, a mentorship and grants program to support African immersive tech content creators.
Over the years, Sherry has worked in various facets of media and tech, with a primary focus on skills development and education. Before joining Facebook she served as Program Director for Digify Africa, a program that saw over 70,000 young people trained in digital skills across Sub-Saharan Africa. She was also the co-founder of the first Social Media Week Johannesburg, offering free and accessible workshops on digital innovation to a mix of audiences across the city. Prior to transitioning into the tech space, Dzinoreva spent 12 years leading communications and marketing for such organisations as Complex Media, TRACE magazine and Black Girls Rock!. Dzinoreva is driven by her passion for building innovative programs and experiences designed to bridge cultural and opportunity gaps around the world to empower, connect and build the next generation of leaders.
