Mohamed Binesmael has held several positions in the engineering and technology industry. In 2018, they became the CEO and Co-founder of Route Konnect. From 2012 to 2016, they were an Ambassador at Cardiff University, a Team Lead (Driverless) and Team Member at Cardiff Racing, a Student Placement - Happold Scholars | Structures at BuroHappold Engineering, and an Undergraduate Design Engineer at RNP Associates Limited. During their time at Cardiff University, they led tours during open days and UCAS days to prospective students, took part in live stream university "hangouts", and worked with the admissions team contacting interested students and organising paperwork. While at Cardiff Racing, they helped to kickstart an initiative to develop a driverless/autonomous racing vehicle, and organised and facilitated marketing videos for their LED sponsor Sedna Lighting, as well as engagement events at schools and exhibitions. During their placement at BuroHappold Engineering, they were involved in the analysis of a flat slab to a load takeout based on architectural landscaping models and drawings, a hospital extension feasibility study, and a basic introduction to visual scripting utilising Blueprint within the Unreal Engine 4 (UE4). At RNP Associates Limited, they worked on structural design and checking of piling platforms, hoarding, temporary strip foundations, formwork and falsework schemes, a glass floor cantilever and steel fixing, as well as site surveying using ground penetrating radar equipment.
Mohamed Binesmael attended Kings Monkton School from 2005 to 2012. Mohamed then went on to pursue a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Civil Engineering at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd from 2012 to 2017. Mohamed completed their education at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd in 2018 with a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Civil Engineering.
