Don Lerum

Software Engineer at Routeware

Don Lerum has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Don began their career in 1976 as an Operator/Programmer at Radiological Associates, where they handled computer operations and developed programs in RPG 3. From 1978 to 1980, they worked at the University of Puget Sound, initially as a Programmer/System Manager and later leading a team to install the first online registration system at the university.

In 1980, Lerum joined Murray Pacific Corporation as an Operator/Programmer, where they operated a PDP-11/70 computer and later transitioned into programming systems in COBOL on a VAX 11/750. Don then moved on to Key Computer Concepts, Inc in 1984 as a Programmer/Analyst, responsible for developing and maintaining custom Member/Donor software for non-profit organizations.

In 1986, Lerum became the President/Developer at TransMar Computer Services, Inc. Don developed and maintained custom software for tracking wood shipments using Conetic Systems 4th generation language and `C' subroutines on a UNIX system.

In 1987, Lerum divided their time between two companies. Don worked as a Partner/Developer at Uncommon Software, where they supported a customer base left without support by previous employers. Don also joined SEH America as an IT Engineer, where they performed various tasks including analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of systems related to the manufacturing of silicon wafers.

Since 2010, Lerum has been working at Routeware, Inc. as a Software Engineer. Don'sresponsibilities include developing software solutions for the waste management industry, creating software interfaces for data import and export, developing custom reports and data interfaces, and maintaining software interfaces for onboard computers in vehicles.

Overall, Lerum has gained extensive experience in software development, system maintenance, and IT engineering throughout their career.

Don Lerum received their high school education from Lincoln High School, where they obtained their diploma in the years 1972 to 1975. Don then furthered their studies at L.H. Bates Vocational-Technical Institute, earning a diploma in Data Processing from 1974 to 1976. Additionally, they attended Tacoma Community College for a year in 1977 and obtained an Associate degree in Technical Arts.
