Project Engineer at RoviSys

Keith Blackwell has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Their most recent position was as a Project Engineer at RoviSys, where they worked on a large Siemens PCS7 project, learning how to use WinCC and OpenOS to create custom faceplates/graphics. Keith also demonstrated their ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining updated documentation and consistent communication with customers.

Prior to this, Keith worked as an Automation Engineer at C. A. Litzler Co., Inc., where they assembled, wired, and tested PLC and VFD panels for several projects. Keith also played a role in commissioning three tire cord treatment facilities, checked IO and verified general operation, and created HMI graphic displays using multiple software packages.

Before that, Keith was an I&E Engineer at Devon Energy, where they supplied the Operations team with turnover packages for a $50M project in WY. Keith also assisted in the development of commissioning standards and provided clarifications for electrical contractors.

Keith also has experience as a Sr. Field Service Engineer and Automation Specialist at ABB, where they implemented control logic for various projects and performed power and grounding audits. Keith reviewed and modified P&IDs, CAD drawings, and One-line diagrams as necessary.

Earlier in their career, Keith worked as a Mathematics Tutor at Cleveland State University, providing supplementary instruction to students in various mathematical subjects. Keith also worked as a Page at the Cleveland Public Library, where they were responsible for shelving books and developing plans to control the expanding inventory.

Keith has also been involved in mentoring and educational outreach programs. Keith served as an Assistant Coordinator at Engineers and Technicians of the Future (ETF), mentoring and assisting Cleveland Public School kids in constructing a remote-controlled robot for a city-wide competition. Additionally, they worked as a Controls Engineer at NASA Glenn Research Center, modifying layout plans and conducting experiments using LabVIEW.

Lastly, Keith worked as a Maintenance Technician at Kent State University, operating machinery to clean and oil bowling alley lanes and repairing pin distributors. Through their work experiences, Keith has developed a strong skill set in engineering, automation, project management, and mentoring.

Keith Blackwell earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cleveland State University, which they attended from 2002 to 2007.
