Alyssa Harris has a strong background in community health and program management. Alyssa most recently worked at Rowan County as the Health Director, where they formulated and administered comprehensive public health programs and made recommendations to the board of supervisors. Prior to that, they served as the Interim Health Director and Community Health Manager at the same organization. Alyssa also has experience as the Executive Director at Healthy Rowan, where they led efforts to create long-term growth and a culture of health through collaborative partnerships. Additionally, Alyssa worked as a Connector at Your Rowan and held various roles at Cabarrus Health Alliance, including Program Manager, Program Coordinator II, and Grant Writer. Alyssa started their career as a Practicum Student and Science Research Specialist at the University of South Carolina.
Alyssa Harris completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2007 to 2011. Following that, they pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Public Health Education and Promotion at the University of South Carolina from 2013 to 2015.
