Oscar was a Smith Mundt/ Fullbright scholar at the Harvard Graduate School of Business where he obtained his Master's Degree in Business Administration in 1962. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPAJ with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree from the De La Salle College in Bacolod in 1958. He earned his Doctorate in Business Management, Honoris Causa, from the De La Salle University in 1992, and in 2003, attained his Doctorate of Law, Honoris Causa, from the University of St. La Salle.
He is the Chairman of the Board of Philippine Investment Management (PHINMA), Inc.; Phinma Corp.; Phinma Property Holdings CorpP, and Union Galvasteel Corporation. Mr. Hilado is also the Vice Chairman of Trans Asia Power Generation Corporation and Trans-Asia Petroleum Corporation. He is the Chairman of the Executive Committee of Phinma Corp. He is also a director of A. Soriano Corporation; First Philippine Holdings Corporation; Philex Mining Corporation; United Pulp and Paper Co., Inc., Beacon Property Ventures, Inc.; Manila Cordage Company; Smart Communications, Inc.; Digital Telecommunications Philippines, Inc. (DIGITEL) Pueblo de Oro Development Corporation, Seven Seas Resorts and Leisure, Inc., Asian Eye Institute Rockwell Land Corporation; Araullo University, Inc.; Cagayan de Oro College, Inc.; University of Iloilo, Inc.; University of Pangasinan, Inc., Southwestern University; PEN Holdings, Inc.; Microtel Inns & Suites (Pilipinas), Inc.; and Trans Asia Renewable Energy Corporation. Roxas Holdings, Inc. is a diversified holding and investment company. The Company is engaged in the business of manufacturing sugar and allied products. Its segments include sugar, alcohol and others. The sugar segment consists of subsidiaries, including Central Azucarera Don Pedro, Inc., Central Azucarera de la Carlota, Inc., Najalin Agri Ventures, Inc. and RHI Agri-Business Development Corporation, which are engaged in the manufacture and sale of raw and refined sugar and molasses, and provide tolling and farm operation services. The alcohol segment consists of subsidiaries, including Roxol Bioenergy Corp. (RBC) and San Carlos Bioenergy, Inc. (SCBI), which are engaged in the manufacture and sale of bio-ethanol fuel. The Other segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of power and carbon dioxide. It produces raw and refined sugar in various grades. It has milling operations, sugar refiner and over two of bioethanol plants in the Philippines.
