Gerhard Veldsman

Gerhard Veldsman has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Gerhard is currently a Member of the Board of Directors at Warrego Energy and the CEO of Group Operations at Hancock Prospecting Group, both starting in 2023. Previously, they held various positions at Roy Hill, including Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer from 2019 to 2021. Gerhard also worked as an Executive Consultant for a private company in 2019. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at Fortescue Metals Group, including Executive General Manager, General Manager, and Coordinating General Manager, from 2011 to 2019. Gerhard has also worked for BHP Billiton and BIS Industries Limited, where they held managerial positions. Before that, they worked at Kumba Resources as an Assistant Resident Engineer. Throughout their career, Gerhard has demonstrated leadership and a focus on safety, operational efficiency, and employee satisfaction.

Gerhard Veldsman has a Certificate in Blue Ocean Strategy from INSEAD in 2019. Gerhard also completed a Finance for Executives program at INSEAD in 2018. Prior to that, they obtained a M. Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stellenbosch University between 1990 and 1999. Gerhard completed their high school education at Ben Viljoen from 1985 to 1989.
