Khalid began their career as a Junior Accountant at Al Nawras General Trading in 1999 before moving on to Al Jeri Transportation as a Financial Accountant. In 2003, Khalid joined MPS Corporation as a Chief Accountant, a role they held for five years. Khalid then transitioned to Power, Water, and Technical Works as the Head of Finance and Administration from 2008 to 2010.

Khalid was instrumental in establishing the finance department from scratch and building a professional team. Khalid Mathbout, CMA, IFRS, completed their education at various institutions and obtained additional certifications. In 1998, they graduated from Tishreen University with a Bachelor of Economics degree, specializing in Accounting and Finance. In 2018, they attended Mindcypress for a course in Financial Modeling. Continuing their professional development, Khalid completed the Reading Financial Statements course at Corporate Finance Institute® (CFI) in 2020. Khalid also completed the Valuation – Advanced program at New York University Abu Dhabi in the same year. Additionally, Khalid obtained the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) in December 2014.
