Richard Hodgkinson C-Eng Mraes

Richard Hodgkinson C-Eng MRAeS is a seasoned aerospace professional with extensive experience in airframe design and engineering. Currently serving as an EPA Professional Competency Assessor at the Royal Aeronautical Society since August 2020, Richard verifies End Point Assessments for apprentices in the aerospace sector. Prior to this, at Heart Aerospace from October 2021 to November 2024, Richard led the structural definition of the ES-30 and ES-19 aircraft as a Senior Airframe Design Engineer and Technical Lead. Richard's previous roles at Airbus spanned nearly two decades, encompassing senior design responsibilities on major aircraft programs such as the A400M and A380. Additional experience includes design engineering roles at Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems, and Bombardier, underpinning a robust foundation in aerospace engineering education with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Southampton.
