Leigh Gordon is the Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Australian Mint, overseeing its operations as the sole supplier of Australia’s circulating coins and various collector products since February 2021. Prior to this role, Gordon held senior positions in the Department of Defence, leading defense reviews, and served as Head Joint Strike Fighter within the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, focusing on the F-35A Lightning II acquisition. With extensive experience in various leadership roles at the Defence Materiel Organisation, including Head Aerospace Systems Division and Director General positions, Gordon has a proven track record in managing complex aerospace acquisition programs for the Australian Defence Force. Educational credentials include an Executive Education program in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School and degrees in Management and Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Canberra and RMIT University, respectively.
