John Stackhouse

John Stackhouse is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in journalism and executive leadership. Currently serving as Senior Vice-President in the Office of the CEO at RBC since January 2015, Stackhouse provides critical insights on global economic, political, and social trends to the executive leadership team and the Board of Directors. Previously, Stackhouse held prominent roles at The Globe and Mail, including Editor-in-Chief, where oversight was provided for approximately 350 journalists across multiple national and international offices. Prior positions include Editor of the Report on Business and National Editor, where notable achievements included launching a standalone business website and leading coverage of the 2004 national election. Earlier in the career, Stackhouse contributed to the Financial Times of Canada as Associate Editor and reported on financial institutions at The London Free Press. Stackhouse began the career at Procter & Gamble as a Brand Assistant. Stackhouse holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing and Finance from Queen's University and graduated from Upper Canada College.
