Sandra Bauer

Sandra Bauer is currently a Council Member at ROYAL BOROUGH OF GREENWICH. Sandra has extensive experience in Student Recruitment and Marketing, having served as the Head of Student Recruitment and Marketing (interim) at Lewisham Southwark College from February 2018 to October 2019.

During their time at Lewisham Southwark College, Sandra made numerous contributions to the school that had a positive impact on both students and staff. Sandra originated and implemented a new Schools Liaison Strategy to form partnerships with key academies and schools to maximise on wider choice for pupils and our own recruitment. Additionally, Sandra successfully communicated the new quality rankings, placing the College at No.4 in London.

Sandra also worked closely with the admissions function to completely change the Open Events for the colleges. Resulting in a huge (almost 10x) increase in attendance and almost all potential students becoming applicants. With Curriculum and Admissions colleagues, Sandra completely changed the application process to ensure fast turnaround, clear communications and maximised conversion.

Sandra produced a highly successful summer recruitment campaign resulting in quality applicants enrolling to target. Sandra also challenged academic colleagues to produce subject specific applicant events which excite, engage and contribute to increased conversion. Sandra led on a website refresh project focusing on mobile-first design and vastly improved UX. Using an established CRM to manage leads, and briefing in a replacement.

Sandra connected with local businesses and politicians to embed the key messages about college creation (Lewisham Southwark College to Lewisham College and Southwark College). Sandra also took a lead role with the parent organisation on procuring nationwide print tenders and advertising agency tenders.

Sandra Bauer studied for a diploma in public relations and image management at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Sandra then went on to study for an advanced certificate in marketing and marketing management at the CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing. Finally, they completed an HNC in business and finance at the University of Greenwich.
