David Hughes

David Hughes is an experienced audit and fraud professional with a comprehensive background in local government. Currently serving as the Shared Service Director of Audit, Fraud, Risk and Insurance for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea since June 2017, David oversees critical functions related to governance and risk management. Prior to this role, David was the Head of Internal Audit and Counter Fraud at the London Borough of Lambeth from April 2009 to June 2017, where responsibilities included directing the internal audit service and promoting good corporate governance. Earlier in David's career, roles included Deputy Chief Auditor and Principal Auditor at Wolverhampton City Council from January 2004 to April 2009.
