Digital Resources Manager: Plants For Health at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

Kristina Patmore has extensive experience in managing and developing digital resources related to medicinal plants. Currently serving as Digital Resources Manager for the Plants for Health initiative at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew since May 2015, Patmore oversees a project supported by the Wellcome Trust that builds on the successful Medicinal Plant Names Services (MPNS). Previously, Patmore held various positions at Kew, including Content Editor and Database Administrator for MPNS, where responsibilities included compiling global medicinal plant name resources and ensuring accurate taxonomic mapping. Additionally, Patmore contributed to the Reflora project aimed at mobilizing Brazilian specimen data and also served in several roles focused on digitization and quality assurance in the Digital Collections Unit. Earlier work includes participation in the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and a horticulturist role at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, where a garden was established to highlight the historical significance of medicinal plants in Wales.
