Stephen Boyd Davis

Research Leader, Professor of Design Research at Royal College of Art

Stephen Boyd Davis has an extensive career in design and research, currently serving as a Panel Member for the Creative Arts, Performing Arts & Design Panel in the Hong Kong Research Assessment Exercise 2020 and as a Professor of Design Research at the Royal College of Art since October 2011. At the Royal College of Art, Stephen leads research initiatives across multiple design disciplines while significantly increasing research funding over eight years. Previous positions include Head of the Art and Design Research Institute at Middlesex University, where strategic development and resource acquisition were primary responsibilities, as well as teaching roles focused on Interactive Media. Stephen's educational background includes a PGDip in Textile Design from the University of Leeds, a PhD in Media Space from Middlesex University, and a BA(Hons) in Textile Design from Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts.
