Dean Of The Faculty Of Dental Surgery And Vice President Dental at Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow

Christine Goodall has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of oral surgery and violence reduction. Christine started their career at NHS Lanarkshire as a SHO in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1999, before joining NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde as a Staff Grade Oral Surgeon in 2002. In 2004, they took on the role of Clinical Lecturer/Honorary SpR in Academic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Glasgow. Christine then progressed to become a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Oral Surgery, a position they held until 2022. In the same university, they also worked as Professor of Oral Surgery and Violence Reduction from August 2022.

Throughout their career, Christine has been actively involved in leadership roles and professional organizations. Christine served as the Director and founder of MEDICS AGAINST VIOLENCE SC041153, a Scottish charity focused on violence prevention and reduction. Additionally, they held the position of Training Programme Director for Oral Surgery, Scotland at NHS from 2013 to 2019. Christine also contributed to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow as the Director of Dental Examinations and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Dental Surgery.

More recently, Christine became involved with Project Lift as a member of the Leadership Cubed Cohort 1 in 2018. In 2021, they were appointed as the Dean Elect of the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, subsequently becoming the Dean of the Faculty in 2022.

Christine Goodall has a diverse education history. In 1981, they obtained a BSc Hons in Biology from the University of Stirling. Christine then pursued a PhD in Neurophysiology at the University of Glasgow from 1985 to 1988. In 1991, they completed their BDS Hons in Dentistry at the University of Glasgow. Christine went on to obtain a PG Certificate in Academic Practice from the University of Glasgow in 2008. Christine also received a FDS (OS) in Oral Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow in the same year. In 2017, they completed an MSc in Quality Improvement from the University of Dundee. Christine has also attained various professional qualifications, including a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow in 1999. Christine is a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Leadership and Management from the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management, and an Honorary Member of the Faculty of Public Health from the Faculty of Public Health.
