Sinead Murphy

Dr Sinead Murphy is the Chair of the Academic Board and Director of Education and Academic Programmes at Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. A Consultant Paediatrician at CHI, Temple Street AND Head of Subject of Paediatrics at UCD School of Medicine, Dr Murphy has consistently combined her role as a clinician educator with clinical positions at every level, allowing for seamless integration of these two interconnected roles. Dr Murphy studied undergraduate medicine in Trinity College Dublin. .She trained in paediatrics in Dublin and then in the UK at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and at University College London where she completed a clinical fellowship in Paediatric Endocrinology before returning to Ireland in 2001. She has been a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland since 2012. Dr Murphy has a special interest in childhood obesity and has carried out extensive research on this subject. , Dr Sinead Murphy is a member of RCPI’S Clinical Advisory Group on Obesity. Dr Murphy is also Education Lead for CHI, Ireland’s new Paediatric Hospital.
