Chukwuemeka (Austin) Umeh currently serves as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust since April 2024, and has held a concurrent role as an Advanced Trauma Life Support Instructor with The Royal College of Surgeons of England since January 2022. Prior experience includes a Consultant position at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust from December 2021 to May 2024, and an Emergency Medicine Registrar role at the same trust from October 2013 to October 2021. Chukwuemeka also trained as a General Practice Registrar at Craiglockhart Medical Group in Edinburgh from November 2007 to July 2010, and worked as a Quality Assurance Person at the African American Multispeciality Group in early 2006. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Emergency and Resuscitation Medicine from Queen Mary University of London (August 2019 - June 2022) and an MBBS in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (1995 - 2003). Education also includes a secondary school certificate from the University of Nigeria secondary school Enugu Campus (1989 - 1993).
