Madeleine Campbell serves as Chair of the Animal Welfare Committee at Defra and the British Equestrian Federation Equine Welfare and Ethics Advisory Group. As a Professor of Veterinary Ethics at The University of Nottingham, Campbell contributes to academic discourse in the field. Additional roles include Independent Director at the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, Fellow at the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and Chair of the Ethics and Welfare Panel for the British Veterinary Association. Campbell has extensive experience as a Governor and Board Trustee at Alleyn's School and holds a longstanding position as an RCVS and European Specialist Equine Reproduction Veterinarian at Hobgoblins Stud. Recent involvement as an Independent Expert Member of the Equine Ethics and Wellbeing Commission at the International Federation for Equestrian Sports and previous membership on the Ethical Review Panel of the Zoological Society of London highlight a commitment to ethical issues in veterinary practice and animal welfare.
