Reinier's career began with a graduation project at General Electric Plastics, researching raw material inventory control, and an internship at CKIT, where responsibilities included building and testing a pipe conveyor belt test rig. Reinier holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, completed in 2006, and attended Willem Lodewijk Gymnasium from 1991 to 1997.
