Luuk Buit

Luuk Buit is a seasoned professional in the field of energy transition and sustainable systems, currently serving as a Senior Consultant at Royal HaskoningDHV since March 2024. Previously, Luuk held the position of Project Leader for the energy transition program at Provincie Groningen from May 2016 to March 2024, focusing on geothermal and waste heat, biobased economy, and the evolution of gas infrastructure. Luuk has extensive experience in CO2 transport for Carbon Capture and Storage and decentralized resilient energy supply through roles at DNV GL, where project leadership and consultancy were key responsibilities. Additional teaching roles at Alfa-college and Hanzehogeschool Groningen, along with research positions at KEMA and Gasunie, contribute to Luuk's comprehensive expertise in sustainable energy systems, smart grids, and pipeline coatings. Luuk holds an Ir./MSc. in Technical Physics from the University of Groningen, completed in 2007.
