Business Unit Director Climate Resilience & Maritime The Netherlands And United Kingdom at Royal HaskoningDHV

Michiel De Jong has extensive experience in the field of climate resilience and maritime consultancy. Michiel began their career at DHV in 1997, where they held various project management and engineering roles until 2012. Michiel then joined Royal HaskoningDHV, where they served as the Director of Advisory Groups and Business Unit Director for Climate Resilience & Maritime in the Netherlands and the UK. In these roles, they led teams of experts and provided innovative solutions to clients in the areas of climate resilience, renewable energy, and maritime engineering. Michiel also held positions as the Director of Maritime Netherlands and the Director of Advisory Group Maritime & Waterways. Additionally, Michiel De Jong has been a member of PIANC and PIANC RecCom, where they served as the Vice Chairman in 2023. Michiel also lectured at TU Delft on Ports & Waterways.

Michiel De Jong attended the Oosterlicht College - VWO from 1984 to 1990. Following that, they pursued their degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at Delft University of Technology from 1990 to 1993. Later, they studied Civiele techniek (Civil engineering) and obtained the degree of Ingenieur (Ir.) from Delft University of Technology between 1992 and 1997.
