Matthieu van Leeuwen

Matthieu van Leeuwen is a highly experienced professional in naval architecture and design, currently serving as a Senior Designer at Royal IHC since January 2006, where responsibilities include translating client requests into economical floating solutions for various types of vessels. Previously, Matthieu held the position of Lead Engineer in Naval Architecture, leading teams to engineer custom-built dredgers. Prior experience includes roles such as Technical Sales Engineer at CONTAINER TECHNICS NV, where Matthieu designed cargo securing solutions, and Drawing Office Coordinator at Shipyard K Damen, ensuring the quality of drawings for various types of vessels. Matthieu also served as Project Manager at MasterShip, focusing on translating designs for commercial vessels into building kits, and has a background as a Designer at Groenendijk & Soetermeer, calculating the stability and strength of inland waterway vessels. Early in the career at VAHALI Shipyards, Matthieu worked as a Quality, Environment & Safety Advisor, implementing an ISO 9001 Quality Management System. Matthieu holds a BSc in Naval Architecture from Technical University Haarlem and VWO from Berlingh College.
