Derek Hodd

Derek Hodd has had a long and successful career in finance and asset management. Starting out as a sales executive for Magnesium Elektron Ltd, they quickly rose through the ranks to become marketing manager and then director for London Metals Ltd. Derek was instrumental in the company becoming one of the first international metal trading companies to achieve ISO 9001 certification.

In 1987, Derek became managing director of Ayrton & Partners Ltd, where they were responsible for governance, leadership and strategy. Derek then went on to become treasurer of the Minor Metals Trade Association before taking on the role of honorary treasurer at the Royal London Yacht Club from 1995 to 2005.

Since January 2005, Derek has been a trustee at the Royal London Yacht Club, providing advice and governance on financial matters. Derek is also a director of Derek Raphael & Co Ltd and Derek Hodd Ltd.

Derek Hodd studied chemical engineering at the University of Bradford, where they achieved a BEng Hons (2:1).
