Derek Smith

Derek Smith is an experienced transport professional with a strong background in leadership and operations within the logistics sector. Since 2010, Derek has served as the Head of Distribution at Royal Mail, overseeing a fleet of over 160 vehicles and a team of 130 staff across six sites, while managing a significant budget. Previously, as the Regional Collections Manager at Royal Mail, Derek ensured compliance with business and regulatory standards for mail collections by leading a team of seven managers. Before joining Royal Mail, Derek was the General Manager at Parcelforce from 2005 to 2007, where responsibilities included managing operations and sales to meet contribution targets.
