Wachira Waruru

Wachira Waruru has extensive leadership experience in media and corporate governance. Currently serving as the Group Managing Director at Royal Media Services Limited since 2007 and Chairman of Chaka Ranch Limited since January 2016, Wachira has also held significant roles including Board Member for the Covid-19 Emergency Response Fund and Chairman of the Media Owners Association. Additional leadership positions include Board Member at the Kenya Cultural Center and The Godown Arts Center, Chairman of the Media Council of Kenya, and Managing Director at both Kenya Film Commission and Kenya Broadcasting Corporation. Wachira's early career included serving as Group Editorial Director at Standard Group. Wachira holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Nairobi and completed education at Lenana School in Nairobi.
