Mandy Lindley is an experienced professional in the nonprofit and public sectors, currently serving as the Director of Relationships and Funding at The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity since August 2015, where the focus is on world-class grant-making to support naval service members and their families. Prior to this role, Mandy worked as the Third Sector Partnerships and Commissioning Manager for Portsmouth City Council from January 2004 to August 2015, leading policy and commissioning efforts for the voluntary and community sectors, particularly for carers and veterans. From November 1992 to January 2004, Mandy was the Scheme Manager at Home Start Portsmouth, where the scheme was established and community partnerships were fostered. Earlier in Mandy's career, from November 1979 to April 1986, service was rendered in the Women's Royal Naval Service, managing pay and cash accounting. Educationally, Mandy holds a BA (Hons) in Professional and Continuing Education from the University of Portsmouth and completed secondary education at Goole Grammar School.

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is the principal charity of the Royal Navy. It exists to support sailors, marines and their families, for life. Its Group of charities includes Royal Marines Charity, The Royal Navy Officers’ Charity and The Naval Service Sports Charity. Since 2007, it has funded projects and facilities that boost morale for those who serve today. It also distributes millions of pounds annually to military charities which care for the children, families and veterans of the Naval Service.
