Philippe Steeghs

Philippe Steeghs is an accomplished professional in the field of geophysics, currently serving as the Head of Department for R&D Observations & Data Technology at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) since March 2019. Philippe has a strong commitment to advancing geoscience, demonstrated through previous roles such as Research Manager for Applied Geosciences at TNO, co-founding Sens2Sea, and serving as a Technology Strategist at the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO). In addition, Philippe holds extensive experience in various capacities at SandBox Technologies and TNO, as well as academic research positions at Rice University and Delft University of Technology. Philippe earned a PhD in Geophysics from Delft University of Technology and an MSc in Geophysics from Utrecht University.
