Collection Specialist, Rocks, Minerals, Meteorites And Gems And Jewellery at Royal Ontario Museum

Katherine Dunnell is an experienced Collection Specialist at the Royal Ontario Museum, specializing in the care of a 105,000 specimen Earth Sciences collection that includes minerals, gems, jewelry, meteorites, and rocks. In addition to collection management, Katherine is involved in exhibition development, public engagement, databasing, and project development, while also being an active union advocate. As a past president and current member of the Board of Directors of the Society of Mineral Museum Professionals, Katherine has contributed to the professional community of 165 individuals dedicated to mineral and geology specimens in not-for-profit institutions. Katherine also served as Media Liaison for the Canadian Federation of Earth Sciences, enhancing communication between member organizations and the Board. Educationally, Katherine holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology/Earth Science and a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Windsor.
