Tom Hobden

Tom Hobden's work experience includes co-founding and serving as the Artistic Director of We Are UNIT, where they have been involved in various dance performances, outdoor spectacles, and dance parties. Tom has also worked as a Board Trustee for the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Additionally, they have worked as a Dance Artist, Choreographer, and Educator for Tom Hobden Dance, specializing in intergenerational dance, dance for boys, and dance education. Tom has held positions as a Lead Dance Artist at the Royal Opera House and as a Curator and Lead Artist of OVERTURE at Matthew Bourne's New Adventures. Tom has also served as an MA Lecturer in Community Dance Practice at Trinity Laban and as a Cultural Advisor at Start East. Tom has had various roles at DanceEast, including Lead Creative Tutor, Core Tutor, and Dance Leader. Tom has also worked as a Lecturer in Education and Community Dance for the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, and as a Senior Dance Lecturer at Suffolk New College.

Tom Hobden began their education in 1999 at De Montfort University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Performing Arts. Tom completed this degree in 2002. Following this, in 2002, they enrolled at the London Contemporary Dance School and obtained a Master of Arts in Contemporary Dance with a specialization in Choreography in 2003.

Years later, in 2008, Tom attended the University of Suffolk, where they earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) between 2008 and 2010.

Most recently, in 2019, Tom enrolled at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama to pursue a degree in Creative Entrepreneurs. Tom completed this program in 2020.
