Caroline Brown is currently the Director for Scotland, Ireland, and English Regions at the Royal Town Planning Institute since October 2023. Prior to this role, Caroline served as Senior Editor at Cities & Health from June 2016 to October 2023. Caroline's academic career includes tenures as Associate Professor at Heriot Watt University, where teaching and research focused on sustainability, health, and urban planning from January 2006 to October 2023, and as Senior Research Fellow at Edinburgh Napier University managing a EU-funded project from September 2004 to January 2006. Caroline also worked as a Lecturer in sustainability and urban planning at the University of the West of England from August 1998 to July 2004. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Civic Design (Town Planning) and an MCD in Town Planning from the University of Liverpool, as well as a BA in Geography from the University of Leicester.
