Nilay Kumar

Nilay Kumar has a diverse work experience in the retail and textile industries. Nilay started their career as a Trainee at Welspun India Ltd in 2005, where they worked on a project related to minimizing delivery lead time. Nilay then worked as a Project Analyst at the Ministry of Textiles for a cluster development program in 2005, where they focused on value stream mapping. In 2006, Nilay worked as a Trainee at Pratibha Syntex Ltd, where they worked on projects related to cutting room layout and organic cotton intimate wear. Nilay then joined Texport Syndicate India Ltd in 2007 for their degree project, where they implemented Statistical Process Control on the shop floor. Nilay also worked at MAS Holdings as a Product Development Merchandiser from 2007 to 2009, where they were responsible for costing, trim costs, and technical specifications. In 2009, Nilay joined Pantaloon Retail India Ltd as an Assistant Manager Category Buying and Sourcing, where they handled range planning, product mix, and stock management. Nilay then worked at Carrefour as a Category Manager from 2011 to 2014, overseeing women's wear, kids' wear, intimate wear, and personal accessories. In 2014, Nilay joined RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group as a Senior Category Manager at Spencer's Retail, where they headed the Kids wear category and was responsible for buying, sourcing, category management, and inventory management. Nilay later joined TPG Wholesale Private Limited in 2016 as a Category Manager and subsequently became an Associate Category Manager. In 2021, Nilay joined the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group as a Chief Manager.

Nilay Kumar's education history includes a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (CDL) from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad, which was obtained from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Fashion Technology from the National Institute of Fashion Technology India, which was earned from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in General Sewing Data from CITI, Colombo, and in Lean Green Belt from TSD Japan, both obtained in 2008.
