Alexander Evis

Chief Risk Officer at RPIA

Alex joined the firm in 2021 as the Chief Risk Officer and is the Chair of the firm's Risk Committee.

Alex brings nearly two decades of experience in fixed income trading, business strategy, and risk management to his role at RPIA. He spent 18 years at Goldman Sachs in New York where he was a Managing Director since 2009. He began his career as a corporate bond trader and then moved onto credit derivative trading. In 2007, he took over Goldman’s Municipal Bond proprietary trading desk, and after the credit crisis, managed its High Yield and Long-Term Municipal trading businesses. In addition to his trading career, Alex managed market structure strategy for Goldman’s Global Credit business from 2011 to 2015, at which time he joined risk management, leading the Counterparty Risk Management and Market Transition teams globally.

Alex is a dual Canadian and German citizen and has a BSc and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has two children (Tess and Bronwen) and has been deeply involved with digital rights organizations like Fight for the Future, and criminal justice reform nonprofits such as the Center for Court Innovation.
