Thijs van der Meer has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Their most recent position was as the Chief Operating Officer at RR Mechatronics, starting in August 2021 and ending in December 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Operations at Axxicon from April 2020 to August 2021.
Thijs also held the position of Director of Operations at Selmers from June 2015 to January 2020. In this role, they were responsible for the operational performance of the company, focusing on financials, technical project management, strategy development, and supply chain improvement.
Before joining Selmers, Thijs worked as an Interim Plant Manager at Royal Duyvis Wiener B.V. in 2014. Thijs was responsible for overseeing global projects and turnkey solutions in the cacao and chocolate industry.
From 2007 to 2013, Thijs served as the Global Operations and Supply Chain Manager at Wedgelock Equipment Ltd. Thijs played a key role in establishing the company as a preferred supplier for Caterpillar and managed global partnerships with Cascade and Kinshofer.
Thijs also has experience as an Operations and Business Development Manager at Seaview Engineering from April 2005 to May 2007. Thijs revitalized the company and handled sales, design, production, and maintenance of heavy transport equipment.
Prior to their roles in the manufacturing sector, Thijs worked as an Operations and Engineering Manager at General Trailers from November 1999 to December 2003. Thijs was responsible for the day-to-day operations, P&L management, and overseeing a team of 100 staff.
Thijs started their career as a Production Quality Manager at NedCar in June 1996. Thijs ensured the delivery of quality output in the Final Assembly Unit.
Thijs van der Meer has also taken some time for travel, including trips through South America, New Zealand, Australia, and Indonesia.
Currently, Thijs van der Meer is the CEO of RR Mechatronics, starting in January 2023.
Thijs van der Meer has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from HTS 's-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands, which they obtained from 1986 to 1991. Thijs also attended HTS Groningen from 1992 to 1993 to pursue a Bachelor of Technical Business Administration. Additionally, Thijs attended Bureau Tromp in 2014 to study Lean Six Sigma, specifically the Black Belt level. Lastly, in 2018, they briefly attended Stichting Bedrijfskunde, but did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study.
