Melanie Louis-Jacques

Melanie Louis-Jacques is the Director and Head of Fund Accounting at RRA Companies. Melanie has over six years of experience in accounting and financial management, including four years at one of the Big Four accounting firms. Melanie is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Northeastern University.

Melanie began their career as an intern at PwC, where they gained experience in assurance and asset management. Melanie was later promoted to Senior Accountant, and was responsible for engagement management, planning, budgeting, staff allocation, providing technical advice, delivering results to the client, and supervising and coaching junior staff on a daily basis. In their four years at PwC, Melanie gained a deep understanding of the accounting and financial management needs of large organizations.

In 2013, Melanie left PwC to join H.R.L. Morrison & Co as a Fund Accountant. In this role, they were responsible for reconciling bank balances, recording general ledger entries, and auditing accounts for discrepancies in QuickBooks. Melanie also developed standardized HR forms, reports, and processes; led the annual renewal/change of health plans; and implemented internal controls that minimized payroll-processing time and reduced errors. Melanie was with H.R.L. Morrison & Co for one year before joining RRA Companies as Director & Head of Fund Accounting.

At RRA Companies, Melanie is responsible for all aspects of fund accounting, including financial reporting, compliance, taxation, and investor relations. Melanie works closely with the CEO and CFO to ensure that the company’s financial goals are met. Melanie is a highly skilled accountant with a deep understanding of financial management principles. Melanie is a strategic thinker who is able to see the big picture and develop creative solutions to complex problems.

Melanie Louis-Jacques has an MBA in Professional Accounting from Rutgers Business School and a B.A. in French from Rutgers University. Melanie is also certified by the NJ Board of Accountancy as a Certified Public Accountant.
