Michael Borg, JP, GIFireE, MAIES, serves as the Deputy Unit Commander for People & Culture at the NSW State Emergency Service, where responsibilities include supporting the Unit Commander in daily management and overseeing ceremonial protocols. In addition to this role, Michael acts as President of the Griffith RSL Sub Branch, Chairman of the MIA Emergency Service Ball Committee, and Commanding Officer of the 340 (City of Griffith) Squadron within the Australian Air Force Cadets. Furthermore, Michael coordinates Young Veterans and 1st Responders in the Murrumbidgee region to enhance social engagement and serves as Chairman of the Riverina Advisory Committee for Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia Ltd. With extensive experience in operational roles within the NSW Rural Fire Service and a commitment to community service, Michael also holds several qualifications, including a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and a Diploma in Management, furthering a career dedicated to leadership, safety, and support within emergency services.

The Returned and Services League of Australia New South Wales Branch (RSL NSW) was formed in 1917 and currently has over 30,000 members in 315 sub-Branches in communities across New South Wales.
