Joe Cheng

Joe Cheng is currently the CTO at RStudio. Prior to RStudio, Joe Cheng was a Senior Development Lead at Microsoft from February 2006 to September 2009. During their time at Microsoft, Joe Cheng was responsible for the development of Windows Live Writer. From January 2002 to December 2002, Joe Cheng worked as a software engineer at Upromise, Inc. In January 2003, they began working as a senior software engineer at Onfolio, Inc. and continued in that position until February 2006. At Onfolio, Inc., Joe Cheng helped users collect, organize, and share anything they found on the web. In October 2001, they began working as a software engineer at LOBBY7 Inc. and continued in that position until January 2002. From February 2000 to August 2001, Joe Cheng worked as a software engineer at Visible Markets Inc. Prior to their work in the software engineering field, Joe Cheng interned as a web developer at Allaire Corp. from July 1997 to January 1999.

Joe Cheng completed a BS in Management - Information Technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
