Thomas Bittar is an experienced modeling and optimization engineer currently employed at RTE since May 2021, focusing on long-term supply-demand balance challenges in power systems. Prior to this role, Thomas worked as an operations research engineer at Meritis and conducted postdoctoral research at École des Ponts ParisTech. A PhD candidate in applied mathematics, Thomas specialized in stochastic optimization of maintenance scheduling during a doctoral program in collaboration with EDF R&D. Thomas also completed an internship at CEA, investigated Chebyshev Rational Approximation Method (CRAM), and has a solid educational background with degrees from prestigious institutions including the University of Cambridge and Centrale Lyon.
